Since Symbol Syndication was founded, we have shot and edited over 150 professional videos for clients. Here we’d like to share some of our favourites, curated for viewing.
Ambition – A Symbol Syndication Original
This is Jonathan Hafichuk’s entry into the 2018 Calgary Professional Videographer’s Association annual film contest. This video is also the trailer for a series we will be launching in September of 2018, which we are currently calling “The Ambition Project” featuring prominent Calgary entrepreneurs.
Panasonic “Saves the Day” at Masterpiece Retirement
Panasonic was looking for a way to showcase the use of their technology in a high-end retirement facility near Calgary and Lethbridge, Alberta. Their marketing agency determined video would be the best way to do this and we were hired to create a case study video for use in business to business sales. Case study videos can be an amazing tool because they easily show potential clients the value of a product such as this and the benefits it can have to an organization.
Litwiniuk and Company
Litwiniuk & Company hired Symbol Syndication to produce a 40 second video to introduce them at a company culture awards gala. The criteria was the video had to be themed like an action movie trailer. For our video production process we modeled it roughly after the trailer for Inception and tried to give it a similar feel.
A big thanks to Hummingbird Studios for creating the music.
Nissan Titan Ride and Drive Event
Nissan Canada put on an event for the Canada Grey Cup where they let people drive a Nissan Titan through a closed course to try it out. Symbol Syndication was hired to produce a short highlight video of the event and do photography.
Trak Kayak on Vancouver Island
Trak Kayaks hired us to come hang out with them on Vancouver Island near Nanaimo. Trak has been an absolutely amazing client to work with over the last couple of years. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed being a part of their journey creating the ultimate touring kayak. TRAK has been manufacturing portable performance kayaks since 2006.
With the support of the paddling community, they’ve re-engineered their boats to be lighter and stronger, building the ultimate in a touring kayak. Learn more: https://www.trakkayaks.com
A short corporate video we filmed for Zoom Painting in Calgary, AB.
Hudsons Canada Video Content Creation
Hudsons Canada hired us to produce several videos for them to promote the different packages they offer for events such as birthdays, stags, etc. You can see these videos playing in their locations throughout Western Canada.
Street Machine Weekend 2017
Street Machine Weekend is organized entirely by the Street Wheelers Car Club. It is estimated that the members put in approximately 5,000 man-hours to plan and hold the show. The event in Lethbridge is promoted extensively through Alberta and advertised nationally to car enthusiasts. The Club promotes the city and the event at every car show its members attend. It is estimated that the event generates in excess of $2.2 million into the retail economy of Lethbridge. There are approximately 50,000 spectators drawn to the event each year. This is our second year doing videography for the event and 2017 was the first year we did marketing for them as well.
Calgary Kidsfest 2017
The Calgary International Children’s Festival (Kidsfest) celebrates its 32nd anniversary this season. From its humble beginning in 1987, Kidsfest has grown to become one of the most prominent non-profit arts festivals of its kind in Canada and the largest presenter of performing arts for young people in Calgary.
Ninja Warrior Parkour
Check out Max Henry’s (our main Ninja) Free Guide to Parkour: http://www.parkourroadmap.com.
There have been a vast number of gimmick filled parkour videos over the last few years ever since Devinsupertramp released his Assassin’s Creed in Real Life video and it went viral. We even made one, Deadpool Parkour in Real Life which was, from a vitality standpoint, a major hit. Generally these videos are met with disappointment from the parkour community due to lack of “real” parkour. In Ninja Warrior Parkour we sought to change that (and maybe play off the American Ninja Warrior craze a little). We brought in Max Henry from New York to be our main ninja and tried to even have a small element of a story line around the video.
The Harvest Haven Store – Take Two
Being our first client, we are excited to see Harvest Haven finally open their new store after starting construction on it 11 years ago. The building is incredible and the fresh bread from the wood-fired oven is to die for. We’re happy we could provide videography and photography the opening of the store on this special day for them
Matador Pizza and Steakhouse
Since 1976 Matador Pizza has been a fixture in the Calgary community for great tasting food, friendly service and a great environment to dine. Using local Calgary ingredients and homemade recipes, they strive to maintain the same freshness and quality that have become the standard for over 35 years. We enjoyed shooting and eating while making this captivating video for them.
The Deadpool parkour and freerunning in real life video was by far the most creative and unique video to date. Viral by design, the results of our effort can be seen in the over 1.4 million views this video has received. This video was shot in downtown Calgary.
You can see the behind-the-scenes on our blog.
Fresh Fest 2018 – University of Lethbridge ULSU
The University of Lethbridge Students Union brought us in the capture video of the amazing show that they call Fresh Fest. We did same day recaps and a highlight reel.
Fresh Fest is an event run by the University of Lethbridge Students’ Union (ULSU) and is designed to bring the new body of students together, while welcoming back returning students.
During Fresh Fest, students are exposed to several days of activities, events, and fun shenanigans to help build relationships, introduce students to the campus, and start the university experience off the right way. Learn more: http://freshfest.ulsu.ca
Lethbridge Electronic Music Festival 2018 (LEMF)
The Lethbridge Electronic Music Festival is an annual event put on in the heart of Lethbridge to showcase electronic music djs. This was the second year we were hired to produce a highlight video for it. Our video editor Liam made sure to pull out all the stops on added effects to make the video match the vibe of the music. Event videography is one of our specialties and we take pride in making event videos as creative as possible.
